Our Classes

Class Information

At Bikram Yoga Brisbane, we are pleased to offer Bikram Yoga, Inferno HIIT Pilates, Hot Mat Pilates, and Yin Yoga classes. All classes are included in the one membership or package!

All our classes are designed for everybody and every body. Beginning and advanced students alike are able to participate to the best of their ability and each class is taught by a qualified instructor who uses specific and direct vocabulary to guide you safely through the sequence.

We use heat in some of our classes with some of the benefits for this listed below –

  • The muscles, fascia and connective tissue become more elastic with the heat.  The heat produces a fluid like stretch, allowing for greater movement in joints, muscles, ligaments and other supporting structures of the body. This allows for greater flexibility and ease getting into the shape of the posture or exercise.
  • It creates a challenging cardiovascular and aerobic workout. Your heart will beat faster, and your body begins to burn fat more effectively, redistributing any excess fat and burning it as energy during class.
  • Your pores and capillaries dilate in the heat, allowing toxins and waste products to be flushed out as you sweat. Your skin really does glow after class!
  • Your metabolism speeds up, helping to breakdown glucose and fatty acids, and improve your digestive system.
  • Your nervous system functions better
  • Blood becomes thinner, clearing the circulatory system.
  • Willpower, self control, concentration and determination are strengthened in this challenging environment. Endurance is boosted through consistent practice.

Bikram Yoga

Bikram Yoga, the “Original Hot Yoga”, is a sequence of 26 postures and two breathing exercises practiced in a specific sequence for 90 minutes.

It is a powerful and dynamic practice, systematically working through the entire body – each posture builds on the next and by the end of class, you have stretched and strengthened every  system of the body.

The room is mirrored to enable better body awareness and refinement, as well as deepening of the postures through easy self-correction.

Some Benefits of a regular practice include –

inferno Hiit pilates

Inferno HIIT Pilates is a fun, full body, low impact, high intensity, interval workout using Pilates principles. It creates long lean muscle mass, improves flexibility, strengthen the core and glutes, and burns fat without the pounding you would typically experience in a high impact workout. It’s safe and healthy for the joints, muscles and bones of the body.

The class is practiced in a slightly heated room with energetic music.

Some Benefits of a regular practice include –

Hot mat pilates

This is the traditional mat pilates class as designed by Joseph Pilates, practiced in a slightly heated room. It is a method of exercise emphasizing balanced muscle development through core strength, flexibility, and body awareness. It includes exercises for every part of the body, and you should expect to move through a challenging flow while utilizing small props provided at the studio.

Yin yoga

A wonderful complement to other more dynamic styles of yoga, Yin is a slower-paced class where postures are held for longer periods of time – usually around three to five minutes. Holding the postures allows for deeper stretching and release of the relatively stiff connective tissues. This facilitates greater circulation through the body and improved flexibility.

  • Stillness: calms and balances the mind and body
  • Reduction in anxiety and stress
  • Increased circulation
  • Improved flexibility
